Privacy Policy: Course Guide Chrome Extension

The "Course Guide" Chrome extension by Omar's Academy (Omar Hamad Al-Fahdi, Muscat, Oman) walks a learner step by step through tasks on claude.ai and points at the right button for each step.

What it reads

Only the position of buttons and fields on claude.ai (e.g. the Projects link or the project name field), and whether a field has text, so it can point and move to the next step. It does not read, store or send your conversations, files or Claude's replies.

Guide code

The extension is for course subscribers and works with a personal code shown in the subscriber's lessons on the course platform. The code is typed once, or picked up automatically from the lesson page when the platform is opened with the extension installed. The extension sends the code only to the course platform, to check that the subscription is active.

What it stores

Locally in your browser only (Chrome storage): the guide code, the step you reached, the tasks you finished and a copy of the task steps. There is no sign-in inside the extension itself.

What it sends

• It downloads task steps from the course platform (https://claude-course-app.home-panel.workers.dev) using the guide code.
• If a button cannot be found for a while (usually because Claude's interface changed), it sends an anonymous report with only the task name, step id and extension version. Nothing about you, your page or your conversations.

Sharing

We do not sell or share any data, and the extension is not used for advertising or tracking.

Permissions

• claude.ai: to show the guide on Claude's pages.
• scripting: to refresh the guide in open Claude tabs after an update.
• storage: to remember the current step on your device.
• Course platform: to fetch task steps and send "button not found" reports.
